LCC v. Spindletop Meet
I hope everyone is getting excited for tomorrow’s meet against Lexington Country Club (2550 Paris Pike, Lexington, KY 40511). The theme is WHITE OUT! Wear all white to support the Cudas!
Divers should arrive at 1
Warm Ups will begin at 1:30
The Dive Meet will begin at 2
Swimmers should arrive at 4:45
Warm Ups will begin at 5:00
The Swim Meet will begin at 5:30
What to Bring: Packing properly for a swim meet is very important. Your child will need two towels (one to use and one to sit on), goggles (label these and keep up with them), dry clothes (flannel pants and hooded sweatshirts are favorites) for after the meet, water for hydration, healthy snacks, a suit, and a swim cap (they do not have to wear a cap if they don’t want to but if they do we ask that all swimmers wear a Cuda cap). Many kids also bring games or electronics that can be played between events. Your children must keep up with their own belongings. The lost and found is always overflowing after a meet; double check your things before you leave after the meet’s conclusion. The team area is outside the pool deck so you may also want to bring chairs/blankets to sit on. A food truck will be available. The buffet they have had in years past will not be offered. Their snack bar may be available, if so, it will be cash only.
I have attached the Heat Sheet to this email. I will also always upload the Heat Sheet (the day before/of the meet) and Meet Results (the day of/following the meet) to SwimTopia under the Meet Event listing. To find these you will go to the “Meets and Events” tab > Find the Meet and you will see the Heat Sheet and Results below the Meet name next to an attachment icon that looks like a paperclip. You will also be able to see these on the Home page under the Upcoming Events section. Directly under the meet name you will see the same attachment icon that looks like a paperclip with the Heat Sheet.
For all 10&Under Parents, please use a black sharpie marker to help younger swimmers write their events, heats, and lane numbers on their arms. It is also helpful to the age group parent if a young swimmer’s name and age is written on their back on their upper right shoulder. The heat sheet will tell you the order of events and what heat and lane your swimmer will be in. Prior to the start of the meet, mark your swimmer’s arm with event number, heat, lane number, and stroke.
Stroke Abbreviations
F- Freestyle
B- Backstroke
FLY- Butterfly
BR- Breaststroke
I have also attached the volunteer list for tonight’s meet. Parents, we couldn’t run these meets without you! If your name is on the list please make sure you arrive on time for your position. If you are a second half worker, please do not leave before the second half. We still need you there and ready to work after the conclusion of backstroke so we can make the switch off of workers as quick as possible. When you arrive make sure to sign the check in sheet under the scorers tent so that we know you were there and can give you credit for volunteering. If you do not sign the check in sheet, you will not receive credit for the volunteer position.
